What fun is a Big Brother season without a good showmance (or 2)? Over the last 21 years, we’ve seen a ton of singles find love and lust in the BB house. Some only last until the season ends, while others went on to marry and even start families. It’s hard to keep track of who stayed together and who fizzled out. Keep reading for the most recent Big Brother couples 2021 update.
Bayleigh Dayton and Chris “Swaggy C” Williams
Current Status: Married
Bayleigh and Swaggy met in the Big Brother house in 2018 and immediately hit it off. Swaggy’s big personality got him voted out of the game early on, but he promised to continue his relationship with Bayleigh after the show. When they reunited for the Big Brother finale, Swaggy shocked everyone by proposing in front of the crowd. This was happy news for fans as they had just learned that Bayleigh had suffered a miscarriage during her stay in the jury house.
In 2019, we watched Bayleigh shop for dresses at Kleinfeld’s on Say Yes to the Dress. She was accompanied by Swaggy, who gave his opinions on the dresses but did not see her final selection as she wanted to keep it a surprise. The couple had a small wedding in 2019 and are still happily married today.
Natalie Negrotti and James Huling
Current Status: Broken Up
Natalie Negrotti and James Huling became a couple in 2016 after meeting on Big Brother. Some fans expressed that they felt Natalie, a professional cheerleader, was out of James’s league. However, his funny personality and southern charm won her over, and they continued their relationship after the show.
Shortly afterward, 💩 hit the fan. James accused Natalie of cheating on him and spending the GoFundMe money he had raised to benefit her family in Venezuela. Natalie threatened to sue him for slander, and it became clear that a friendship between the two was likely not salvageable.
In July of 2018, Natalie appeared on MTV’s The Challenge where she came out as pansexual. “I came out with my story to share my truth with those who are battling the same thing I did. Do not throw hate at anyone for their actions,” she later wrote on Twitter. In April of 2019, she introduced the world to her girlfriend, Stephanie Cooler.
Raven Walton and Matthew Clines
Current Status: Broken Up
Raven and Matthew were an unexpected BB 2017 couple. Matthew was a quiet, serious player while Raven dazzled him with her over-the-top antics and quirky personality. They soon became very close and seemed to care more about their relationship with each other than they did about the game.
After the show, the pair tried to make a long-distance relationship work. Raven lived in Arkansas and Matt was in Arizona. It seems the two have since broken up, but may still remain friends.
Jordan Lloyd and Jeff Shroeder
Current Status: Married with Children
Jordan and Jeff were fan favorites of the 2009 season of Big Brother. After being outed as a showmance, they were targeted by other houseguests and relied on each other for support. At the wrap of the season, Jeff won “America’s Favorite Houseguest” and Jordan’s heart. They got engaged during the sixteenth season of the show and are still married today. They have two sons, Lawton and Layton.
Nicole Franzel and Corey Brooks
Current Status: Broken Up/Married to Another Player
Nicole and Corey met on Season 18 and seemed smitten from the start. Corey respected Nicole as a great player (she played previously and dated cast member Hayden Voss). Nicole was charmed by Corey’s looks and atheltic abilities. Their relationship may have lacked depth, as some speculated, and they lost touch after the season ended.
Nicole went on to date another player from the same season: Victor Arroyo. Their relationship surprised fans because they seemed like “just friends” on the show. As they say, the best relationships begin as friendships, and Nicole and Victor are an example of that. They married in March 2021 during a small, intimate ceremony in Winter Park, Florida. They are currently expecting a baby and are due any day now! 👶
Jessica Graf and Cody Nickson
Current Status: Married with Children
Jessica and Cody were an unlikely pairing on season 19. She was a cocktail waitress with a sexy image and he was an All-American country boy. Still, the two clicked and formed and alliance as well as a showmance. They seemed like an unstoppable duo, dodging elimination week after week. Although neither won Big Brother, they went on to compete on CBS‘s Amazing Race in 2018 and won the $1 million dollar prize.
Later in 2018, Jessica and Cody married. They are still happily together and have two daughters, Maverick and Carter.
Rachel Reilly and Brendan Villegas
Current Status: Married with Children
Love them or hate them, “Bretchel” is still a thing – even after all these years! Brendan and Rachel fell in love on season 12 of Big Brother. Rachel’s loud and sometimes outlandish personality was a match for mild-mannered Brendan who seemed to support all of Rachel’s harsh gameplay. Her strategy paid off during season 14 when the couple returned to play on a “duos” season of Big Brother, and Rachel won the $500,000 prize.
Rachel and Brendan married in 2012 and have two children together, Adora and Alder.
“Our family of 3 has become a happy family of 4!!!!! We couldn’t be more excited. This guy has filled our hearts and home with so much joy. Thankful for my hubby @brendonvbb12 who is the best partner and such a strong rock in our family!!!”, Rachel wrote on Instagram.
Daniele Donato and Dominic Briones
Current Status: Married with Child
Daniele and Dominic met on BB13, where Dominic was a first-timer and Daniele was a returning player, having been on the show previously alongside her dad, “Evel” Dick Donato. She had a season 8 romance with Nick Starcevic, but that ended shortly after the show aired.
Daniele and Dominic wed in 2013 and welcomed their first child, a daughter named Tennessee, in 2018. They are still happily married.
Angela Rummans and Tyler Crispen
Current Status: Engaged
“Tangela” is still going strong, y’all! This pair was also a surprise to viewers. Angela seemed disinterested in Tyler at first, and Tyler was much more focused on the game than he was with pursuing a relationship with anyone. Eventually, their flirting caught up to them and they started to develop real feelings. Tyler came in second place on season 20 in addition to winning “America’s Favorite Houseguest”.
In 2019, Angela and Tyler bought a house in Hilton Head, SC, where Angela is from. On January 31st, the couple announced their engagement on Instagram. Angela wrote, “YES to forever and ever and always. You and me babe, for the rest of time.️ 1.10.2021. ‘If it’s meant to be, it’ll be.'”
Haleigh Broucher and Faysal “Fessy” Shafaat
Current Status: Broken Up
This one hurts because I was a BIG fan of this couple when they started dating on season 20. Fessy pursued Haleigh hard, but she brushed him off for the first few weeks because she wanted to take the game seriously and didn’t want her family to see her participate in a showmance on TV.
Eventually, Haleigh expressed interested in Fessy and their relationship began to heat up after the season ended in 2018. They took trips together throughout 2019 and remained strong despite being long distance between Florida (Fessy) and Texas (Haleigh) because Haleigh was still in school.
“What we’ve been doing is every few weeks, we book a flight so we know that no matter what, we’re going to see the other in let’s just say two weeks,” Haleigh told E! News.
The two shared that they were making plans to finally move to the same location, and were still posting photos together as recently as January 2020.
However, in July 2020, Haleigh announced that they had decided to end their relationship after two years.
“To all of the fans, It is with a heavy heart that Fes and I have made the decision to split ways and focus on ourselves,” she posted to Twitter on July 18th.
“This was not an easy decision, and we have truly tried every possible thing we could to continue in this relationship. We are so grateful for the memories, opportunities, and the great times that we have to cherish, and will always hold a place in our hearts for the other.”
“With both of our lives moving in different directions, the distance, the different backgrounds, and the constant pressures online, it was better for both of our mental healths to call it quits,” Haleigh continued.
“Like I said, Fes will always have a place in my heart. To everyone that has supported us, and all of the Fayleigh fans, thank you a million times over. You all hold a special place in our hearts as well.”
Haleigh concluded, “We are still so grateful and in love with you guys, and I hope y’all can learn to love us separately. We hope that you can respect our privacy and healing at this time.”
That’s it for Big Brother Couples 2021: Where Are They Now, but I’ll be sure to post updates as the franchise barrels on with more summer showmances sure to take place in the near future! ❤️🔥
