After selling her Wernersville, Pennsylvania home for $1.1 million, Kate Gosselin moved to North Carolina with four of her eight children. Her eldest daughters, twins Cara and Mady, are attending separate colleges in New York. Her sextuplets, soon-to-be Juniors in high school, are divided. Aaden, Alexis, Joel, and Leah live with Kate, while Collin and Hannah live with their father, Jon Gosselin.

Hollywood Life reported that Kate Gosselin moved to North Carolina to “start a totally new life”. Her four younger children will be spending their junior and senior years there before heading off to college. Cara and Mady will likely have to move to North Carolina when they are on summer break. A source disclosed, “The two older girls are in no rush to go to North Carolina. They weren’t happy about the move because they have no friends there.”

There have been rumors that Kate has been struggling financially for months. At the height of her family’s reality show success, she was raking in $250,000 an episode (source: Celebrity Net Worth). She has not been able to film with her children for several years because she is unable to obtain worker’s permits for them without the consent of Jon. Aside from the occasional interview or appearance, it seems that Kate has not been working at all. When she initially listed her home for sale in October 2020, the listing price was $1.2 million, which is $100,000 less than what she paid for the home in 2008. She eventually broke even at $1.1 million, and is likely downsizing in North Carolina.

Jon Gosselin still lives in Pennsylvania with two of the sextuplets, Collin and Hannah. Collin moved in with Jon in 2017 after leaving a boarding school that Kate sent him to. Jon was awarded sole legal and physical custody of Collin in December of 2018 after Kate failed to show up to court to contest the matter. In a February 2020 interview with the First Class Fatherhood podcast, Jon stated that Collin has no contact with Kate or any of his siblings, aside from Hannah.

Hannah moved in with Jon in 2018, shortly after an incident at an orthodontist office where the police were called because of a conflict between Jon and Kate, according to ET Online. Hannah left with Jon after expressing her desire to do so. Hannah reportedly still has some contact with Kate, as well as sisters Cara and Mady. During a battle with COVID-19 last year, Jon Gosselin did not hear from six of his eight children. Even still, he is hopeful that they can all reconnect one day.
